Cliptic Translate is built to keep your conversations yours. Translation runs entirely on your Mac — nothing you say is sent to us or to any cloud.

1. On-device by design

Speech recognition, translation, and voice synthesis all run locally on your device. Your audio, transcripts, and translations are processed on your Mac and are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. The app works without an account and contains no advertising, analytics, or telemetry.

Language models are downloaded once (from our public mirror on GitHub Releases, or from Apple). These downloads deliver software only and carry none of your personal data.

2. The website

This site (translate.caliptic.com) is a static informational site. We do not set tracking cookies and do not run third-party advertising or analytics. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process basic technical request data such as IP address and standard server logs for security and delivery, under its own policies.

3. Payments

Purchases are sold and processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited), which acts as the Merchant of Record and reseller for Cliptic Translate. When you buy a subscription, Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information under Paddle's own Privacy Policy and Buyer Terms. We never receive or store your card details.

4. License validation

To confirm an active subscription, the app sends only a Paddle transaction or subscription identifier to our validation service — a stateless function that queries Paddle and returns a short-lived, signed license token. It keeps no database and stores no personal data.

5. Data we hold

Because of the design above, we hold essentially no personal data ourselves. As the seller, we can see order and subscription metadata (for example, order status) through Paddle's dashboard to provide support and manage subscriptions.

6. Your rights & contact

You can contact us at info@caliptic.com with any privacy question or request. For data held by Paddle as Merchant of Record (billing details, invoices), please also refer to Paddle. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

7. Children

Cliptic Translate is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available here, with the “last updated” date above.
